A legacy of superior and innovative lens design and manufacture under the Cooke name that continued throughout the 20th century beginning with still portrait, telephoto and process lenses, through the development of acclaimed Cooke cine and television lenses, and continues today by Cooke Optics Limited, with award winning 35mm cine prime and zoom lenses.
For over 100 years, Cooke has been at the centre of the filmmaking business. We've been listening to the community of which we are a part. We lead by introducing new
products such as /i Technology, and we remember our success is built on a simple idea - do what the filmmaker needs.
The SP3 T2.4 Full Frame spherical prime. Cooke’s classic Speed Panchro design delivered through lenses built for the digital age.
more infoThe growing demand for vintage Cooke Speed Panchro lenses from the 1920s to 1960s prompted us to introduce a modern redesign of the vintage classic. We are pleased to introduce Cooke Panchro/i Classic, T2.2 to T3.2 Prime lenses.
Our new Pancho, that is true to the original look of the now legendary Speed Panchro, recreates the same look and feel of the original with the advantage of modern glass mounted for today’s cameras. And, the new lenses come equipped with /i Technology for frame by frame digital information capture, as do all modern Cooke cine lenses for film and digital capture.
The original Cooke Speed Panchro, designed by Horace W. Lee in the 1920s, was a cine prime lens that chromatically enhanced an image when filming under restricted illumination. Cooke Speed Panchros combined a relative aperture as wide as f2.0 with an angular field of view and definition previously impossible with much smaller apertures. They quickly gained a worldwide reputation for quality cinema production and were widely used throughout the 20th century.
Available in focal lengths: 18, 21, 25, 27, 32, 40, 50, 65 MACRO, 75, 100, 135,152mm.
Optical Design | The optics are designed to give maximum performance at full aperture with superior control of flare, distortion and spherical aberration. |
/i Electronics | Accessible via contacts in PL mount that sync with /i compatible cameras. |
Colour Balance | All Panchro/i Classic prime lenses are colour balanced, colormatched and compatible with Cooke 5/i, S4/i, miniS4/i and Anamorphic/i. |

You expect and get superior performance and ease of operation
from Cooke lenses. The Cooke S4/i 15-40mm CXX zoom lens offers
attributes beyond great optical and mechanical performance for
35mm/Super 35mm formats:
Cooke's new Variable Vignetting Stop allows the high speed CXX lens to maintain T2.0 and high resolution throughout the zoom range. This innovative mechanism adjusts automatically. The benefit to you: no ramping and no flare.
T2, of course. Light and comparable in size to a Cooke S4/i prime telephoto lens. And like our S4/i telephoto lenses, the CXX zoom offers an extraordinary close focus: Under 7 inches from the front element. And like the Cooke S4/i Primes - no breathing.
See in the dark -- with T1.4 speed and a focus
ring that illuminates when you need it.
External lamps are no longer
necessary for the focus puller to see in the dark because this new
design incorporates a simple on/off and dimmer to adjust the level of
illumination desired on the aperture ring. You now have the visability
you need without affecting the light coming into the camera.
Cooke 5/i optics offer superb optical and mechanical performance,
control of flare, distortion, veiling glare and spherical aberrations at
full aperture. The cam-type focus mechanism allows for smooth focus
adjustments. Modular construction increases ease of maintenance and
serviceability.
Cooke 5/i Prime Lenses were designed and developed in close technical
collaboration with industry professionals.
They are colour-matched and compatible with Cooke S4/i, miniS4/i, CXX 15-40 mm T2 S4/i Zoom, 18-100mm T3.0 and 25-250mm T3.7 and the SK4 16mm lenses

All of the anamorphic lens characteristics
demanded by filmmakers today with the Cooke Look® and oval bokeh. That’s
the Cooke Anamorphic /i Look. Images beautifully rendered for film and
especially suited for use with digital cameras.
The Anamorphic /i lens correct aberrations exceptionally well over the entire image area – astigmatism, lateral and longitudinal colour – that will render shape, form and soul to your images.
While the "look" is crucial, precision engineering and seamless integration with other equipment is equally important. The Anamorphic /i, prime lenses in ten focal lengths are colour matched to our S4/i, 5/i and miniS4/i lenses.
Ideal for close-ups and product shots, the Cooke 65 mm Macro Anamorphic /i 2X Prime lens has magnification ratio 4.1:1 with close focus of 5.5" from front of lens.
Now, you have even more latitude. We went
one step further with our new Anamorphic/i SF lenses that are specially
manufactured with a coating that allows for even more creative options.
The “SF” stands for Special Flair because they allow you to kick the
flares, bokeh
and other aberrations into new visual territory.
Complementary to the Anamorphic/i lens series, they are offered in 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm, 180mm, and 300mm focal lengths.
The Anamorphic /i lenses offer superb
optical and mechanical performance. Distortion, veiling glare, flares,
and all aberrations are controlled at all apertures over the whole field
of view. Like our S4/i, 5/i and miniS4/i prime lenses, the cam focus
mechanism allows for smooth focus adjustments. Modular construction
increases ease of maintenance and serviceability.
The Anamorphic /i lenses are designed and made by us to our traditional high standards in Leicester, England.
