NiSi Filters offer a complete square filter system, perfect for Landscape photographers looking for a high quality and easy to use system. NiSi Square Filter Systems are available in 70mm for compacts and mirrorless, 100mm for most wide angle lenses with standard filter threads, 150mm size for popular wide angle lenses including Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8, Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 and 180mm size for the ultra wide angle lenses including Canon 11-24mm f/4L.
All NiSi square filters are Nano coated and offer true to life colour through our IR technology. NiSi Filters are low reflection, are made from high definition Optical glass and offers double sided water proofing. By using neutral density filters the camera is vulnerable to infrared light which will cast the unwanted red colour to images. NiSi Filters have an added infrared protection coating layer to eliminate the infrared light through the lens to bring back the True to Life Colour.
The NiSi Cinema 4×4″ Nano IRND Soft-Edge Graduated Filter is a graduated neutral density filter that darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies while leaving the remainder of the frame unaffected.
The camera is different from the human eye. The dynamic range of the
human eye is quite wide allowing us to see detail in bright and dim
areas simultaneously. While modern cameras have made significant
advances in range, they are still not able to match what we can see with
our own eyes. They have trouble holding detail in scenes with a wide
range of tones. To compensate for this, we can use ND Grads (short for
Graduated Neutral Density Filter) to selectively darken an area of the
frame, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected
exposure in the other regions of the image.
The NiSi Nano IRND Soft-Edge Graduated filters are characterised by a soft transition (they change from light to dark more gradually) and are used when the transition between light and dark areas is not so clear. A classic example is a shot in a mountainous area. The NiSi Cinema Range of IRND filters is constructed from optical glass for clarity with no loss in sharpness.
Scratch, Oil & Water Resistant
The nano coating creates a protective layer over the glass, making it scratch resistant and easy to clean.
Ultra-Low Color Shifting
Superior colour control compared to other leading competitors.
Dual-Sided Nano Coating & Infrared Light Control
Made from single piece of optical glass, each filter features NiSi’s exclusive Dual-sided Nano coating technology with infrared light pollution control.
NiSi’s nano-coating reduces glares and reflections to deliver a 6K digital image with no loss in clarity.
Smooth Graduated Transition
The NiSi Nano Soft IRND Grad has a smooth graduated transition with no apparent transition between the darkest part of the filter on the top and the bottom which is clear. This filter is perfect for situations where there you have an uneven horizon, such as a mountain or cityscape.
The NiSi Cinema 4×4″ range is perfect for pairing with the NiSi C4 Cinema Holder for a lightweight and quick to mount system for lenses with standard filter threads. A leatherette pouch is included for storage and transport. Also available is a larger filter case to organise and keep multiple filters at once.
The NiSi Cinema 4×4″ Nano IR Neutral Density 2.1 Filter (7 Stop) creates
a darkening of the entire image by 7 stops, allowing you to compensate
for bright conditions whilst keeping your Aperture, Shutter speed and
iso where you need them to be.
The IR Coating eliminates any unwanted
colouration of the image when used in conjunction with other filters. In
order to remove any colour cast and keep the Blacks as rich and true as
possible, one layer of NiSi Optical Nano Coating is applied to each of
this filter’s surfaces along with the IR coating to provide the highest
colour accuracy as possible.
This coating, coupled with high-quality optical glass and strict manufacturing standards, give you accurate colour, extreme sharpness making it perfect for today’s high-res. cameras.
NiSi’s Linear Polariser uses the same high-quality optical glass as the rest of the NiSi line. This, coupled with Nitto Polariser film, creates a filter with a 99.9% polarization rating. Each filter is precision ground and polished after the film is applied to ensure maximum sharpness. The edges of the filter are resin-sealed to keep moisture from entering the filter, improving durability.
Polarisers reduce the reflection on non-metallic surfaces to reveal the original colour and texture of an object. Polarisers can also help to enhance the saturation of colours beyond that of normal vision. They are the most effective filter to improve the tone of the sky and are not easily imitated by post-production.
The NiSi Linear Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out the light on non-metallic surfaces. This light is often seen as a haze in landscape scenes. The linear polariser passes light through the filter evenly which reduces this haze-like effect and a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.
Due to how the light is broken down and filtered with a linear polarizer, in-camera autofocus and exposure accuracy become skewed during use. This filter is recommended when not using in-camera exposure metering or autofocus.
The cinema filters also conform with the 4mm thickness allowing them to fit into filter cages or slot into cageless designs. A leatherette pouch is included for storage and transport. Also available is a larger filter case to organise and keep multiple filters at once
The NiSi Cinema 4×4″ range is perfect for pairing with the NiSi C4 Cinema Holder for a lightweight and quick to mount system for lenses with standard filter threads.
The Nisi 6.6 x 6.6” Range is compatible with all leading brands of matte boxes that fit the 6.6 x 6.6” standard.
The Nisi 4×5.65” Range is compatible with all leading brands of matte
boxes that fit the 4×5.65” standard.
The NiSi Cinema Enhanced Rotating CPL Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.
A polarizing filter arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.
NiSi designed their new rotating circular Polariser with the cinematographer in mind. The filter fits into a standard matte box tray and uses a 0.8 gear to turn a circular polariser in the assembly. This design makes it easy to find the polarisation you want with the turn of a finger.
The Rotating Circular Polariser can significantly improve efficiency on time-sensitive shoots, making it a powerful tool for videographers and cinematographers.
Weather isn’t a problem with the NiSi Rotating Circular Polariser. Its double-sided waterproof coating lets water slide right off, leaving no trace on the filter. It also means that less dust and dirt will stick to the filter, making it easier to clean. The edge of the Polariser is sealed to keep moisture from entering the filter.
The Rotating Enhanced CPL uses a unique nano-coating that amplifies the effect the polariser has on colours. It helps to boost colour saturation and make the skin tones more natural.
